Times: Drop Off 8-9 a.m. / Pick Up 4-5 p.m. outside building. Activities run 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Breaks and Lunch: Includes breaks with games and activities, outdoors as weather permits

Public Health Protocols: Maximum 8 children, physical distancing encouraged, mandatory health screening and enhanced facility cleaning

Young Artists: Paint, Draw, Print! Ages 8-12, Barcode: 17114

Let’s make art! Learn how to draw and paint vibrant landscapes, people, buildings and animals on paper and canvas with acrylics, tempera paint, watercolors and drawing materials. You will also discover the magic of printmaking by creating and inking a ‘plate’ to make unique images. Led by artist Kari Mullin who has years of experience leading children’s art programs and a summer student assistant.

Disney Delights: Drama, Dance & Art, Ages 6-10, Barcode: 17081 - Camp is Full

The Lion King, Toy Story 4, Inside-Out and Frozen 2 are just some of the favourites we will explore through movement, drama, arts & crafts, and games to prepare a special performance that we will record for friends and family to view at home. Experience the Disney Magic! Camp leader Kim Green is a trained dancer and arts educator who has lots of experience imagining and creating with children. Kim will be assisted by a summer student. 

AUGUST 10-14

Creative Kids! Ages 6-10, Barcode: 18360 - Camp is Full

Spend a creative week exploring visual and performing arts - music, art, drama and dance while learning new skills, using your imagination and having fun. Come and express yourself! Camp leaders Emily Hartman and Angelika Toczyski are studying music and art in university and have lots of experience leading camps for young people. Includes games and outdoor breaks.

ONLINE Video Game Programming & Design Programs

Instructor is Jim Smith of Progressive Music & Arts. Jim has successfully led a variety of video game camps and after school programs for children at the Arts Centre. He has also delivered these programs online.

Program Fee: $150 (CCA Member $127)

Program Times: On-line, Monday to Friday, 1-3 p.m.

Memberships: Purchase in person at the Service Cambridge counter in City Hall

Computer Requirements and On-Line Program Delivery

PC (desk top or laptop) with an internal or external camera and a mic (not a Chrome Book). You will also need an internet connection, Google Chrome browser, Gmail account and Google Drive. The on-line delivery platform will be Google Hangouts/Meets. Jim will be in touch with parents/guardians before each camp to send required files and make sure everything is set up.

Video Game Programming & Design: Arcade Games 1, Ages 8-12 (Online), Barcode: 17127 

Learn how to program your own real working Arcade video games from start to finish. Includes Pong, Breakout, Pacman, Fly Swatter and more. Develop computer programming and design skills while having fun!  

JULY 27-31                                                   

Video Game Programming & Design: Arcade Games 2, Ages 8-12 (Online), Barcode: 18361 

In this program children will design and develop their own Arcade games in the style of Tanks, Airplanes, Maze Games and more. No prior experience needed!

AUGUST 10-14                                     

Video Game Programming & Design: Platform Games, Ages 8-12 (Online), Barcode: 18362 - Camp is cancelled

Learn how to create your very own Platform video games in the style of Super Mario, Terraria and more using professional quality mechanics and graphics. A fantastic chance to develop artistic, mathematical and communications skills while having a great time!

Learn how to design and program RPG Zelda style video games with graphics, characters and movement. Develop your artistic, math and communications skills in this fun and supportive program.

AUGUST 24-28

Pixel Art for Video Games, Ages 8-12 (Online), Barcode: 18378 

Discover how to make classic pixel art in the style of Super Mario, Zelda and Terraria. Design plants and animals as well as tools, coins, hearts, potions and more. You will also animate your pixel art and load it into a working video game.
